UNCOVERING YOUR GOD GIVEN ASSIGNMENT...Ministry/Practical Service

2. Ministry for the purpose of practical service of the body of Christ. if i look into the old testament I can easily point out two people with this gift, Joshua the servant of Moses who practically ministered to Moses especially his domestic needs. The washing of Moses clothes, running errands for Moses. Fixing some practical things in his house and putting his natural life into proper order . Another person with that gift was Elisha who served Elijah. when he was called the bible recorded he stayed with Elijah and pour water into Elijah's hand. His gift made room for him or his prophetic personality to develop. in the new testament it looks like Philip the evangelist, Stephen, all had this gift because they were call to serve tables and run errand for the Apostles in those days. there are gifted men and women who are are called to run around, to make a vision, a goal or a programme or run an event to success. They enjoying running errand or physical service to make a thing work. Has anybody practically though about Martha, She must be a woman with such gift, who was concern about making Jesus visit to their house a memorial. so do we have some practical brothers and sisters that gives themselves in serving tables during church convention and conferences. They are so happy going to market buying all that will be needed for the kitchen , conference all and etc. they serve well to see that everybody is well attended to in all daily ministration and non is neglected or not cared for. Sometimes a man or a woman with this gift could be said that he/she has the gift of Hospitality. There was also a woman who attended to Elisha's need which had no child for years that her gift earned her a child from Elisha.
